One day, in a perfect world.....

I'll have a job that doesn't offer insane amounts of overtime, that way I won't be subliminally coerced into exhausting myself for extra pay.

Then I remember that I want to be a Paramedic.

On to other things. Game 5 of the World Series is tonight. Again. I do have to retract my previous statement though. I actually do care bout the series now. I hope the Phillies win. I think they shouldve won to tell you the truth. That game could have been called at the end of the 5th, and the Phillies would have won. Not very exciting, but the weather called for it. But no, the umpires and grounds crew waited, with probably more than a little suggestion from the commissioner, and look at that they delay the game after the Rays tie it. Then it gets suspended, then the suspended game gets postponed, and now its tonight.

The final season of The Shield on fx is amazing so far. I think there is only 4 episodes left. I'm gonna miss that show, Good thing for DVDs.

I need a nap. Seriously. 7 0 clock rolls around, and I am gonna disappear til like 11 or 12....it'll make staying here til 3 am just a little more bearable.

Let the blogging begin

So here I am with yet another blog site....though to be fair I hardly blog on myspace or facebook, and rarely ever to I blog on livejournal anymore....so hopefully I will just condense it all into this one. maybe. If I ever use this one that is.

Anyway. Saw V. Came out today. I want to see it. In a plan brilliantly conceived by Adam last night, he is going to buy the first 4 on DVD. Then on payday, I'm gonna buy some alcohol. Then, we are going to proceed to get drunk and watch all 4. Sounds like a plan.

Seriously though, Saw V is at the top if my movies list right now.

Being stuck here at work, I begin to see the futility of it all.

So, with the possibility of less than 5 of us staying, the rest of us are all kind of up in the air about what to do. I have the opportunity to stay with Grubb and Ellis, working basically a customer service job. I'd get a pay increase and keep my benefits, and time in company, which is great. The problem is me doing customer service. Answering phones, dispatching the maintinence people, and whatever the hell else they do over at base 4. Part of me thinks, screw that, $16.50 an hour working for a BS company looks better than that. Then I remember how crappy Wackenhut really is and I am forced to reconsider once again. There's a couple of other options. Take a severence from Grubb and Ellis, and go work commercial EMS full time. Thats up there on my list. Why not? If I knew exactly what the severence was going to be, I'd be better informed on that decision, but we've heard 2 or 3 different possibilities. So, all in all, its probably going to be at least another week or two until all of the information is out on the table and I can finally make an informed decision. So that's another 2 weeks of wondering where I am going to work after November 30th.

(*edit: most of the jobs we thought were available with Grubb and Ellis proved to be nonexistent at this point in time, and there were serious doubts as to what would open in january. only 3 people, not counting our bosses, were offered permanent positions with Grubb and Ellis. The rest were offered temporary posiions for 1 month in hopes that something will be open by the end of that month)

I feel like this is the closest that the universe has gotten to making me play by its rules. I usually do whatever I want, regardless of consequence, and really don't worry about anything. I'm generally easy going, laid-back, carefree, and not tolerant of the BS most other people deal with when the universe decides that its their turn to get fucked. Now all of a sudden I'm worrying about this crap instead of just making the decision and moving on. WTF.

The World Series...tied at one game apiece for The Rays and the Phillies. Does anyone care?
